Celtic Park to Develop New Training Facilities

Published

on

Plans are underway to build two new facilities for security and groundskeepers at Celtic Park‘s training site. If the proposal gets the green light from Glasgow City Council, these buildings will be located right at the entrance on London Road.

This project, known as phase three, is part of a larger development aimed at enhancing the training grounds for Celtic FC.

Previously, the club submitted phase one plans, which included exciting features like an indoor training facility, modular changing rooms, a gym, a reception area, and a medical first aid room. Good news for fans, as those plans have already been approved!

But the club isn’t stopping there. They have also submitted another application for phase two that includes plans for a second modular facility with offices, changing rooms, and a canteen. This application is currently under review by the planning department in Glasgow.

The Barrowfield training ground mainly serves Celtic’s youth teams for training and matches. The new facilities are part of a comprehensive upgrade that will also cater to Celtic’s boys’ and girls’ Academies, alongside a dedicated training center for the Women’s First Team.

In their planning statement, the developers, Ryden, explained that these modern facilities at Barrowfield will meet the growing needs of Celtic FC while also aligning with the requirements set by football governing bodies.

Ryden further emphasized that this training complex signifies Celtic’s commitment to the east end of Glasgow, ensuring the club remains a significant part of the local community.
