Char Broil Recalls Digital Electric Smokers Due To Electric Shock Hazard

Char-Broil, a company based in Columbus, Georgia, has initiated a recall of their digital electric smokers due to a potential electric shock hazard.

The affected products, which were sold under various model descriptions such as Digital Electric Smoker, Digital Electric Smoker w/Window, and Digital Electric Smoker, Connected, were designed for outdoor use only.

Consumers who purchased these electric smokers from retail stores like Lowe’s, Menards, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, and Target, as well as online platforms like Amazon.com and HSN.com, are advised to stop using them immediately.

Char-Broil has received reports of 79 incidents where consumers experienced minor electric shocks while handling the smokers, with one person developing a finger blister as a result.

The company is offering a free repair kit to affected consumers, which includes a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter plug to address the electrical leakage issue.
