Charlotte Hornets Unveil Roster Ahead of 2025-26 NBA Season

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — The Charlotte Hornets officially unveiled their opening night roster for the 2025-26 NBA season, which begins Wednesday with a home game against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Hornets’ roster stands at 18 players, including three two-way players. Expected starters include LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Miles Bridges, while the competition between Sean Knueppel and Collin Sexton will be noteworthy during the preseason, although both are anticipated to receive significant playing time.
Head coach Charles Lee may opt to dictate the Kalkbrenner/Diabate pairing based on game matchups and other in-game factors. In the Hornets’ lineup, Tre Mann, who recently showcased his skills against the Milwaukee Bucks, has the potential to become a leading offensive contributor off the bench.
Players such as Pat Connaughton and Mason Plumlee are also pivotal to the team’s success, particularly due to current injuries affecting players like Williams and Green. McNeeley is expected to play a significant role and may elevate the effectiveness of the Hornets’ second unit.
Charlotte’s roster has seen some challenges, particularly due to injuries, but the coaching staff remains optimistic about their depth and overall talent heading into the new season. This dynamic will shape how the team approaches their initial games.
The Hornets face the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 22 for their season opener.
