Chase Bank Branch Exterior Closure Sign

NEW YORK, NY — Chase Bank has announced that all of its 4,700 locations will be closed on Presidents' Day, which falls on February 19 this year. The closure is part of a wider observance by numerous banks and government services across the country.

In addition to Chase, other major financial institutions such as Citi, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo will also suspend in-person operations on the holiday. Bank customers are advised to utilize digital banking options and ATMs during this time for necessary transactions.

“Customers should plan ahead as in-person services like teller transactions will not be available,” a Chase spokesperson stated. “Digital banking platforms will remain accessible, ensuring that essential banking tasks can be handled from anywhere.”

Although customers can still access their accounts through mobile and online banking, transactions made on Presidents’ Day may not process until the following business day. Thus, users are encouraged to complete essential transfers and deposits before the holiday to avoid delays.

ATMs will remain operational, allowing users to withdraw cash, make deposits, and check balances. However, customers needing large amounts of cash are advised to plan accordingly and withdraw in advance to prevent inconvenience.

In addition to bank closures, all federal and state government services, public schools, and the U.S. Postal Service will also recognize the holiday. This means that mail delivery will be suspended on Presidents’ Day.

Presidents’ Day, historically celebrated on the third Monday in February, commemorates the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Though not officially mandated as a national holiday, it has been observed since the 1880s and remains a public holiday for Federal employees.

“This holiday serves as an opportunity for citizens to pause and reflect on the contributions of our nation’s leaders,” noted a government representative. “While some services will be unavailable, we encourage everyone to utilize digital methods for their needs.”

As this year’s holiday approaches, residents are reminded that preparation is key, especially for banking services during this closure. Whether banking with Chase, Citi, or another institution, customers should take advantage of online and mobile banking solutions during this federal holiday.
