The exchange began when Kimmel asked Cher if she had finished the second installment of her memoir, set for release in November 2025. Cher responded with a laugh, admitting she hadn’t ‘even started it.’ Kimmel, visibly surprised, questioned whether she could meet the deadline, leading to a cold stare from the singer. ‘So it’s not coming out in November,’ Kimmel teased, to which Cher firmly replied, ‘Yes, it is.’

She credited their time on ‘The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour‘ for keeping their marriage together longer than it might have otherwise lasted. ‘Doing the show kept us together because, on the show, we had so much fun. We were equal,’ Cher said.

Cher also revealed that a mystery man played a key role in helping her leave Bono. Although she mentioned him in her memoir, she chose not to name him during the interview. ‘I wonder, how does he feel about it? But he must feel good because he was a really good person,’ she mused.

The interview comes after Cher’s memoir detailed a disturbing encounter with late music producer Phil Spector, who allegedly propositioned her when she was just 15 years old. Cher recounted the incident in her book, describing how Spector asked her to sleep with him in French. She responded in kind, saying she would do so only for money, a reply that left him stunned.
