Cherry Blossom Unmasked on Shocking ‘Masked Singer’ Episode

LOS ANGELES – In a surprising turn of events on the March 26 episode of “The Masked Singer,” the contestant known as Cherry Blossom was eliminated just moments after her debut, joining new figures Yorkie, Stud Muffin, and Mad Scientist Monster.
During her video introduction, Cherry Blossom expressed her nervousness and hope that her performance would resonate with viewers. “To me, Cherry Blossom represents rebirth, a changing of seasons. Which is why it’s perfect for me. And, also, this is personal,” she revealed.
Cherry Blossom’s identity was further hinted at when she disclosed her connection to a former contestant. “You could say we grew up together. He taught me to not take myself so seriously. There was no one who made me laugh more,” she teased. The actress expressed excitement and anxiety about participating, stating, “I’ve done it all in my career, but I have never sung before,” adding, “I think it’s important for this Cherry Blossom to branch out and have a little fun.”
Despite delivering a strong rendition of Jennifer Lopez‘s “Let’s Get Loud,” Cherry Blossom still appeared overwhelmed in front of the judges. “This is the scariest thing I’ve ever done,” she admitted, sharing that she was channeling her children’s confidence. “One of them sings, but my legs are still noodles right now.”
As the episode progressed, a final clue from Joey Fatone identified her as “part of one of the most famous TV families of the ’90s.” Yet, Cherry Blossom received the fewest votes from viewers and was ultimately sent home.
The panelists had various guesses concerning her identity: Ken Jeong thought she was a Saturday Night Live alum, while Rita Ora speculated she might be a 7th Heaven actress. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg opted for a Beverly Hills, 90210 star, and Ken Jeong guessed Tracy Gold from Growing Pains. Ultimately, the reveal came as Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role as D.J. Tanner in “Full House.” She expressed relief after her unmasking: “I’m so happy I got to do it.”
Bure referenced the late Bob Saget as her inspiration for participating, noting that he had previously competed on the show as the Squiggly Monster before his passing in 2022. “He really was the inspo,” she stated.
As for her future on the show, Bure was disappointed but optimistic. “Had I stayed on the show another week… I feel like I would’ve enjoyed the second one even more,” she said. The upcoming episode of “The Masked Singer” will feature a “Boy Band Night,” promising more exciting performances and surprises.
