Cheryl Burke Returns as Guest Judge for ‘DWTS’ Halloween Episode
LOS ANGELES, CA — Cheryl Burke is making a highly anticipated return to the ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ ballroom as a guest judge for the Halloween episode on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Burke, 41, previously danced on the show for 26 seasons, and this marks her first appearance since leaving in 2022.
Burke expressed her excitement about this special moment, stating, “I think that it just felt right” to return as the show celebrates its 20th anniversary. “It has taught me to have my own voice. It has shaped me into the woman I am today,” she explained.
Looking forward to reconnecting with former colleagues, Burke shared, “I’m just really excited. It’s gonna be a huge reunion for sure.” She last exchanged texts with other professionals before the current season began.
During the Halloween episode, Burke will join fellow judges Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, and she aims to offer both constructive criticism and encouragement, drawing from her own experiences as a competitor. “I really hope to be able to give constructive criticism, but also be encouraging,” Burke said.
The evening will feature a unique “Dance Monster-thon,” where the remaining couples will perform simultaneously. Burke anticipates the competition’s demands, saying, “The pressure is either gonna take them out of the competition, or it’s only gonna fuel fire.”
Encouraging the couples, Burke advised, “Don’t aim for perfection, because what is that, anyway? Beauty is in the imperfections, for sure.” As she prepares to step back into the ballroom, Burke reflects on her past, saying, “It’s gonna probably feel like no time has passed,” emphasizing her gratitude towards the show.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.
