Chiefs Rule Out Pacheco, Simmons for Sunday’s Showdown Against Bills
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs will be without running back Isiah Pacheco and offensive tackle Josh Simmons for their game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Pacheco suffered a knee injury during Monday’s game against the Washington Commanders, diagnosed as an MCL sprain. He is considered week to week, and head coach Andy Reid confirmed he did not practice on Friday.
“I don’t think it’s long-term,” Reid said about Pacheco’s injury. “He’s a tough kid. There was a point where he wanted to go back in, but I wouldn’t let him.”
Simmons has been unavailable for several weeks due to personal matters, with Reid stating last week he has been “taking care of family” while keeping in touch with the team.
Guard Trey Smith and offensive tackle Jaylon Moore are also questionable for the game. Smith has experienced back issues but was a limited participant early in the week and a full participant on Friday. Moore missed Friday’s practice due to illness but is expected to return.
Despite the setbacks, the Chiefs are coming off five wins in their last six games. They aim to maintain momentum against the Bills, a significant rival in the AFC that has proven to be a formidable opponent.
With Pacheco out, veteran Kareem Hunt is likely to step up, along with rookie Brashard Smith, as the Chiefs look to navigate this vital match-up in Western New York.
