Chipotle Launches New Adobo Ranch Dip Starting June 17

August 1, 2023 – DENVER, Colo. – Chipotle Mexican Grill announced Monday that it will introduce a new limited-time dip, Adobo Ranch, on June 17. This marks the first new dip added to the menu since the company rolled out its queso blanco in early 2020.
The Adobo Ranch dip will feature adobo peppers, sour cream, and a unique blend of herbs and spices, according to the company. Chipotle’s chief brand officer, Chris Brandt, emphasized the rising popularity of ranch among younger consumers. “Ranch has become a cultural phenomenon, especially among Gen Z, who are finding creative ways to enjoy it beyond the traditional salad,” Brandt said.
Members of the Chipotle Rewards program can enjoy a special offer on June 17. Those who sign up before 11 p.m. local time on June 16 will receive a free side of the Adobo Ranch with the purchase of a regular-price entrée.
In addition to the new dip, Chipotle continues to innovate its menu. Earlier this year, the chain introduced Honey Chicken as a limited-time protein option, and last September, its Smoked Brisket returned for a limited time in the U.S. and Canada.
Chipotle operates nearly 3,800 locations worldwide, including about 3,700 in the United States. The company is on track to reach its goal of 7,000 restaurants in North America.
CEO Scott Boatwright discussed the brand’s ambitious growth, stating that the company aims to open a new restaurant almost every 24 hours this year. He attributed part of this growth to Chipotle’s AI-powered hiring tool, Ava Cado, which has significantly reduced the hiring time by approximately 75%.
Boatwright described Ava Cado as a solution that helps communicate with potential hires and streamline the recruiting process. He noted that faster hiring times are essential for maintaining staffing levels at restaurants and acquiring top talent.
As Chipotle continues to expand, it aims to enhance team member experiences through AI rather than replace human workers. The company reported nearly $2.9 billion in revenue in the first quarter, marking a 6.4% increase from the previous year. Its second-quarter results are expected to be announced in July.
