Christina Hall Ant Anstead Reunion

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Christina Hall and Ant Anstead, both known for their roles in reality television, have revealed how their relationship has evolved following their divorce in 2020. In an emotional segment on HGTV‘s ‘The Flip Off,’ the couple discussed their experiences co-parenting their son, Hudson, now five years old.

The reunion comes in the wake of Christina’s recent split from her husband Josh Hall, which she described as a pivotal moment that brought her back to Ant’s doorstep. ‘After Josh and I split up, I went over to his house to pick up Hudson and he gave me a huge hug. We hadn’t hugged in years,’ Christina recalled on the February 19 episode. ‘It was a very nice moment and we had a very long talk after.’

Initially married in December 2018, Christina and Ant’s marriage ended in September 2020 following a turbulent period marked by a custody battle over Hudson. Despite the challenges, Ant reflected positively on their recent interactions, noting that their relationship has transformed. ‘Hudson is five now, and in those years, it has been really, really difficult. That changed three months ago, and the relationship that we have now is really important,’ he stated during the episode.

Christina, 41, and Ant, 45, have worked hard to put differences aside for the sake of their son. After the couple’s divorce, communication was sparse, but recent events have prompted a shift. ‘We decided to put all the BS aside and be good co-parents,’ Christina explained, highlighting a significant step towards mending their relationship.

On the show, they even reflected on their previous challenges, with Christina humorously describing Ant’s judging style as meticulous. ‘I forgot how meticulous he was,’ she admitted while sharing the screen with him again. Despite past tensions, she found Ant supportive during her performance evaluation.

Ant’s involvement as a guest judge this season was partly to maintain their newfound camaraderie and show unity as co-parents. However, the appearance did not sit well with Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, who expressed concerns about potential bias. On a confessional segment, Tarek suggested that Christina could have invited another judge instead of Ant.

Throughout the episode, Christina’s playful competitiveness emerged, as she expressed a desire to ‘mess with Tarek’ by having Ant as the judge. ‘It’s going to be so thrown off when I say the judge is Ant,’ she said, emphasizing the lighthearted dynamics between them.

As the episode progressed, Ant’s role shifted from a mere judge to a mature co-parenting partner. He acknowledged the difficulties their family faced over the years while affirming his support for Christina. ‘It’s not going to be something you want to hear, but unfortunately, it puts Christina and me on the same team forever,’ Ant mentioned during the judging process.

Both Christina and Ant have now moved on from their past relationship, with Ant currently dating actress Renée Zellweger. Despite their individual journeys, the two are committed to co-parenting Hudson effectively, proving that reconciliation is possible even after turbulent separations.

As the series continues to air, it remains to be seen how the evolving dynamics between all four individuals – including Tarek and his wife Heather – will unfold on-screen. The Flip Off airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV, with episodes available for streaming on Max and Discovery+ the same day.
