Christina Hall Reveals She Saw Divorce Coming Before ‘The Flip Off’ Premiere

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — HGTV star Christina Hall opened up about her divorce from Josh Hall in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE ahead of the Jan. 29 premiere of her new show, *The Flip Off*. The 41-year-old designer revealed she sensed the end of her marriage during filming for the competition series, which pits her against her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa.

Josh Hall, 44, filed for divorce in July 2024, leaving Christina without a partner for the show’s original couple-versus-couple format. Despite the unexpected split, Christina said she was not caught off guard. “No, I kind of knew it was going to happen,” she told PEOPLE. “I’d been talking to both of them about it,” she added, referring to Tarek and Heather, who were aware of the marital issues and offered support.

The breakup forced a shift in the show’s dynamic, with Christina relying on her team of experts instead of Josh. She described the experience as a “distraction” that helped her cope with the stress of her divorce. “The show was stressful in itself for different reasons, not even having to do with our dynamic,” she said. “Just flipping a house that fast and I haven’t flipped in a long time. So I think it was a good distraction.”

Christina and Tarek, who share two children, previously starred together on *Flip or Flop*, which ended in 2022 after a decade on air. Since then, Christina has focused on solo projects like *Christina on the Coast* and *Christina in the Country*, showcasing her interior design skills. *The Flip Off* marks her return to competitive house flipping, albeit under challenging personal circumstances.

Josh Hall filed for divorce on July 15, 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” and requesting spousal support. The split has been a source of public drama, with both parties moving on to new relationships.
