Christine Lampard Reflects on Career and Friendship with Lorraine Kelly
Christine Lampard, a well-known figure in the television industry, has expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to fill in for Lorraine Kelly on the popular ITV show, “Lorraine.” The Northern Irish broadcaster often steps into the role when the esteemed Scottish presenter is unavailable, earning a warm reception from the audience.
In an interview with Woman&Home magazine, Lampard reflected on her career, describing her success as “ridiculous” yet fulfilling. “If you had told me when I was growing up I'd be doing what I'm doing now, I would have laughed so much. Even now, I find it ridiculous. I love it so much, but it is ridiculous,” she remarked. Lampard, emphasizing her natural gratitude, expressed appreciation for the smaller aspects of her life, noting, “It can be very small things and that's powerful.”
Lampard, who is married to former football player Frank Lampard, is also a familiar face on ITV’s “Loose Women.” Despite her busy schedule, she maintains a close professional relationship with Lorraine Kelly, albeit, as Lampard admits, their interactions are infrequent. “Lorraine and I get on brilliantly, although we’re like ships in the night when it comes to the show, so we tend to message a lot,” she stated.
Lorraine Kelly, known for her distinctive yet warm presenting style, recently celebrated 40 years in television. She surprised audiences by recreating her performance from “The Masked Singer” in a special edition of her talk show. The episode featured a brass band and appearances by her friends and colleagues, including Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard. Kelly regarded the event and an upcoming documentary about her career as a “lovely” way to share her journey with her granddaughter, describing it as “like the most amazing photo album.”
