Christopher Walken Skips Streaming, Relies on DVDs for Apple TV+ Show
NEW YORK — Christopher Walken, the acclaimed actor known for his distinctive style, revealed he doesnu2019t subscribe to Apple TV+ u2014 or any streaming service u2014 despite starring in the platformu2019s hit series “Severance.” During a recent interview on SiriusXMu2019s “Andy Cohen Live,” Walken shared that he watches the show on DVDs because he lacks the necessary equipment for streaming.
“Not all of them,” Walken said when asked if he had watched every episode of “Severance.” “I canu2019t. I donu2019t have the equipment, so theyu2019re good enough to send me DVDs.” Cohen, visibly amused, followed up by asking if Walken had an Apple TV+ subscription. Walken replied, “I donu2019t have anything.”
Walken plays Burt Goodman, the retired head of optics and design at Lumon Industries, in the Emmy-winning sci-fi thriller. The show explores the lives of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided. The long-awaited second season premiered on January 13, 2025, nearly three years after the first season finale.
During the interview, Walkenu2019s co-stars, including Adam Scott, Britt Lower, and John Turturro, also discussed the showu2019s intricate plot and fan theories. Scott, who plays Mark, joked about a popular theory involving human cloning, saying, “This sounds like what Lumon would be doing in a super boring version of ‘Severance.'” Patricia Arquette, who plays Harmony, added, “You are very far off and wrong.”
Show creator Dan Erickson, who began working on the second season before the first even aired, addressed fan expectations. “To me, itu2019s always about stacking the mysteries on top of each other,” Erickson told The Hollywood Reporter. “Every answer opens a new door, and there are new wonders to explore.”
