Clairo Portland Concert

Clairo, a prominent singer-songwriter whose real name is Claire Cottrill, has publicly urged male fans attending her concerts to exhibit more respectful behavior. The plea followed a recent performance at McMenamins Historic Edgefield Manor in Troutdale, Oregon, near Portland, where certain attendees’ actions prompted the artist to speak out on social media.

Following her concert on October 9, 2024, Clairo took to social media to express her concerns, stating, “Portland was fun!” but added a request, “Can the guys at my shows stop yelling at me.” She further clarified in a follow-up post, “It’s fine that men enjoy my music. U don’t have to be embarrassed that U like my music. But when u come to my shows at least be respectful of me and other people in the audience! Thank you.”

While Clairo did not detail the specific incidents that led to her social media remarks, several fans corroborated her feelings by sharing their experiences online. One individual described the crowd as “awful,” noting disappointment in the behavior observed, which was in no way attributed to Clairo herself.

During the concert, as captured in a video posted by fans, Clairo could be seen addressing the audience’s lack of attention, asking, “Have any of you heard this song?” in apparent disbelief. This moment exemplifies her frustration with certain sections of the crowd.

Additionally, a fan account shared a video of Clairo encouraging the Portland audience to match the positive energy of her previous tour stops, challenging them to be “even better.”

Clairo is currently on her North American tour promoting her latest album, ‘Charm.’ Her scheduled performances will continue across the continent, culminating in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 8. Following the North American leg, Clairo is also slated to perform at Mexico City‘s Corona Capital festival, before heading to New Zealand, Australia, and Europe in 2025.
