Punjabi music composer and lyricist Bunty Bains had a close brush with death as he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Mohali, Punjab. The incident unfolded at a restaurant in Mohali’s sector 79 where Bunty Bains was present.

A report by Aaj Tak/India Today detailed the harrowing experience, revealing that Bunty Bains was targeted by unidentified assailants who opened fire at him. Miraculously, he managed to evade any injuries during the attack.

Post the alarming incident, Bunty Bains disclosed that he received a chilling phone call demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The caller, believed to be associated with criminal elements, threatened severe consequences, including death, if the ransom was not paid.

The threats were allegedly linked to notorious figures like Lucky Patial, who is connected to criminal outfits led by Lawrence Bishnoi and Bambiha. These groups are known for their illicit activities in Punjab.

Law enforcement agencies have initiated an active investigation into the shooting incident aimed at Bunty Bains. Visual evidence from the scene displayed shattered windows and a lodged bullet, underscoring the intensity of the attack.

It is noteworthy that Bunty Bains played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of several prominent Punjabi singers, including his close associate, the late Sidhu Moose Wala. He was actively involved in managing Moose Wala’s professional endeavors.

Sidhu Moose Wala met a tragic fate in a drive-by shooting back in May 2022. The responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder was claimed by gangster Goldy Brar, adding layers of complexity to the criminal landscape in Punjab.
