Tim Weeks Bargain Hunt

Bargain Hunt has made its return to BBC One, featuring antiques expert Tim Weeks who shares his extensive knowledge with the show’s amateur buyers. Weeks entered the Bargain Hunt team after being discovered while co-presenting BBC‘s Street Auction. Following a successful screen test, he joined the show and has been thriving in his role ever since.

Weeks has expressed his enthusiasm for being part of the show, humorously describing his experience by saying, “Sometimes, I look at the contestants standing next to me in the blue or red fleeces, and I just want to run around kissing everyone and shouting, ‘I’m on Bargain Hunt!'”

Beyond his television duties, Weeks is passionate about his career as an auctioneer. “I absolutely love everything about being an auctioneer – from valuation and researching to cataloguing and auctioneering, I genuinely love it. I’m fortunate enough to work around great people where we work very hard, but also have a lot of fun,” he shared.

Outside of work, Weeks enjoys spending time with his family. “Having fun and lots of madness with my wife Alexa and two children Albie and Bella. They all boss me around!” said Weeks, jokingly admitting that his family often takes charge. Despite these playful remarks, it’s evident that he treasures his time with them.

He has even given up his previous hobby of collecting antiques to focus on his family. Weeks explained, “I try not to anymore! I used to collect loads… football programmes, toys, vinyl, ceramics, but I tend to spend my money on the kids instead of me these days.”

While his professional life keeps him busy, Weeks ensures he takes time to enjoy simple pleasures such as “coffee, chocolate and singing in my car.” He also retains a keen interest in outdoor antiques fairs, noting, “I always prefer an outside fair, as I like being able to rummage through the larger stalls where it feels like even the stall holder isn’t completely sure what they have.”

Tim Weeks’ career has not been without its setbacks, including a notable mishap when he spent £220 on a collection of celebrity autographs, which turned out to be worth only £10. Reflecting on this incident, he said humorously, “It still hurts.”

Bargain Hunt airs on BBC One on weekdays at 12.15pm, where viewers can catch Weeks in action, sharing his expertise and enthusiasm with contestants.
