CNN Unveils New Celebrity Travel Series ‘My Happy Place’

ATLANTA, Ga. — CNN is set to premiere its new original series, ‘My Happy Place‘, on April 27 at 10 PM ET/PT. This unique travel show follows six celebrities as they share the destinations that have provided them solace and inspiration throughout their lives.
Each episode features a different celebrity guiding viewers through their personal sanctuary. The series kicks off with host Alan Cumming leading an exploration of the Scottish Highlands, where he reflects, ‘I feel a deep sense of calm when I’m here. I slow down, I connect.’
Questlove, the drummer for The Roots, will showcase Austin, Texas, in the third episode. ‘Whenever my schedule clears, I head straight to my happy place — Austin, Texas,’ he shared in a promotional clip released Monday.
The series includes a diverse array of locations, such as Bali, Indonesia, visited by another celebrity, and Mykonos, Greece, another personal favorite of one of the featured guests. Other destinations include New Orleans, Louisiana, and Bangkok, Thailand, both of which are highlighted for their creative and spiritual significance.
The show is produced by Boardwalk Pictures, with executive producers including Andrew Fried, Jamie Granet Bederman, Jane Yusim, Amy Entelis, Lyle Gamm, and Katie Hinman from CNN Original Series. Alexandra Lowry serves as the showrunner and executive producer.
Amy Entelis, CNN Worldwide’s Executive Vice President for Talent & Content Development, emphasized the emotional depth of the series: ‘These talented storytellers let viewers into their home away from home, and the result is as poignant as it is illuminating.’
Viewers can anticipate visually stunning episodes filled with personal stories and breathtaking destinations, broadening their understanding of each celebrity’s unique relationship with their chosen locales.
