Coastal Flood Warnings Issued in Multiple Regions Due to High Tides and Incoming Storms
Coastal flood warnings and advisories have been issued in several regions along the U.S. coastline due to a combination of astronomical high tides and impending storms. In Connecticut, the National Weather Service has warned of coastal flooding as a result of high tides expected on Wednesday. Residents are advised to be cautious of flooding in low-lying areas and near coastal regions.
In the southeastern United States, Camden County in Georgia is under a coastal flood advisory until early Friday evening. This advisory is in response to the anticipated high tides and potential storm surges that could exacerbate flooding conditions.
Mobile and Baldwin counties in Alabama are also under a coastal flood advisory, effective until Thursday morning. These advisories highlight the need for residents to be aware of the potential for flooding, especially during high tide periods.
A coastal storm is expected to impact the eastern seaboard, particularly in areas such as Virginia, bringing rain, wind, and the potential for flooding. Meteorologist April Loveland’s forecast indicates that the storm will bring much-needed rainfall but also warns of increased rain chances and possible thunder later in the day on Thursday.
