Cobra Kai Final Season Trailer Teases Daniel and Johnny’s Alliance
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The official trailer for the final episodes of Netflix‘s hit series “Cobra Kai” dropped Monday, revealing an unexpected alliance between longtime rivals Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). The sixth and final season, titled Part 3, premieres globally on Feb. 13, 2025.
The trailer showcases the duo teaming up for one last battle at the Sekai Taikai tournament, set in the Valley of Los Angeles, nearly four decades after their iconic clash at the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. “In the beginning, we were enemies,” Daniel narrates in the trailer, which blends nostalgic footage from the franchise with new scenes from the series.
“I guess it was inevitable we’d end up on the same side,” Johnny adds, hinting at the resolution of their decades-long rivalry. The trailer also highlights the peace between their respective karate schools, setting the stage for a climactic showdown.
“Cobra Kai,” a spinoff of the “Karate Kid” franchise, was created by Hayden Schlossberg, Josh Heald, and Jon Hurwitz. The trio recently told The Hollywood Reporter about their plans to expand the “Karate Kid” universe beyond the series. “The show will end our love for ‘Cobra Kai,’ but our desire to play in ‘The Karate Kid’ sandbox doesn’t end,” Schlossberg said. “Whether that’s delving into some of the characters and their pasts or where their future lies ahead, there will definitely be a lot of potential that you’ll see in those last episodes.”
The final season is written and executive produced by Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg through their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett, and Susan Ekins also serve as executive producers, alongside Macchio and Zabka.
