Coffee Mate and Dr. Pepper Collaborate on Coconut Lime Creamer for Dirty Soda Enthusiasts
Coffee Mate and Dr. Pepper have joined forces to create a novel coconut lime creamer tailored for dirty soda aficionados. This limited-time creamer, primarily designed for mixing with Dr. Pepper, will hit grocery store shelves nationwide this March. Priced at $3.29, the collaboration aims to enhance the experience of crafting homemade dirty sodas.
The concept of dirty soda gained traction on social media in 2022 but has long been popular in Utah since the early 2010s. This unique beverage typically combines soda with creamer, flavored syrups, and a splash of lime juice. The trend’s prevalence in Utah can be attributed to the significant Mormon population in the state, who generally abstain from alcohol due to their faith.
Celebrities like Selena Gomez and Shay Mitchell have played a role in popularizing the dirty soda trend. In late 2021, Gomez shared a post on social media showcasing a cup from Swig, a notable soda shop famous for its dirty sodas. Additionally, Mitchell featured in a video highlighting the appeal of this innovative drink.
Adding to the beverage competition, Coca-Cola recently introduced Coca-Cola Spiced, a beverage aimed at challenging Dr. Pepper’s market presence. Launching on February 19, this new offering infuses the classic taste of Coca-Cola with raspberry flavors and spiced notes, marking Coca-Cola’s first permanent flavor release in three years.
