A new entertainment landmark, the Rogers Stadium in north Toronto, is set to host major musical acts upon its completion next summer. The venue has announced its first headliners, the popular British band Coldplay, who will perform as part of their “Music of the Spheres” world tour on July 7-8, 2025.

The Rogers Stadium, located on the redeveloped Downsview Airport lands adjacent to Downsview Park, is set to open in June 2025. This new stadium will boast a seating capacity of 50,000, providing a significant boost to the local entertainment and tourism sectors. Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed enthusiasm for the project’s potential to create jobs and draw visitors globally.

Another major act set to perform at the venue is Oasis, who will return to Toronto for the first time since 2008. The band will perform on August 24-25, 2025, after initially planning a single concert. Tickets for their shows had sold out quickly, prompting the band to add another date.

Live Nation Canada executive Erik Hoffman highlighted that the new stadium aims to host mega-artists and enhance fan experiences with its comprehensive food and beverage offerings. Rogers Stadium will function seasonally, further integrating cultural vibrancy into the city.

Coldplay has announced a presale registration until 10 a.m. Eastern on Thursday, with general ticket sales commencing on Friday at noon. A limited number of $20 tickets will also become available in November, adding accessibility to their concert.

The redevelopment of the 150-hectare Downsview Airport Lands by Northcrest encompasses not only the creation of Rogers Stadium but also additional housing opportunities, marking a significant transformation of the area.

Renderings and layout details of the Rogers Stadium can already be viewed on Ticketmaster, showcasing the design that combines a general admission floor area with surrounded seating sections for optimal concert viewing.
