New York, NY — Comedians Colin Jost and Pete Davidson‘s investment in a Staten Island ferry is sinking financially, failing to meet its intended goal as a floating entertainment venue.

The duo purchased the 277-foot vessel, nicknamed Titanic 2, for $280,100 at a city auction in 2022. However, the ferry has not started operations and remains docked at a New York shipyard, incurring significant monthly docking fees.

Reports indicate that the ferry is accumulating tens of thousands of dollars in expenses each month while it sits idle. Despite the financial strain, both Jost and Davidson are taking the news in stride. During a recent appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Jost joked, “This is why idiots should not be allowed to do things,” referring to the immediate decisions they need to make after the purchase.

Jost later acknowledged the financial blunder to People magazine, stating that buying the ferry was “absolutely the dumbest and least thought-through purchase I’ve ever made in my life.” As expenses continue to rise, the comedic duo may need a fresh strategy to salvage their maritime dream.

This venture serves as a cautionary reminder of the unexpected challenges that can arise from whimsical investments.
