Colman Domingo to Host in Edgar Wright’s ‘The Running Man’ Remake
Colman Domingo has been cast as the game show host in Edgar Wright‘s upcoming remake of *The Running Man*, based on Stephen King‘s 1982 novel. The film, set for release on November 7, 2025, will also star Josh Brolin, Karl Glusman, Katy O'Brian, and Daniel Ezra. Domingo, known for his roles in *Rustin* and *Euphoria*, will play a pivotal role in the dystopian thriller.
The original 1987 film, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, followed Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in a deadly reality show to save his daughter. In Wright’s version, Brolin will portray the central villain, while Domingo takes on the role of the charismatic and sinister game show host, previously played by Richard Dawson.
Wright, who co-wrote the script with Michael Bacall, is producing the film alongside Nira Park and Simon Kinberg. Domingo’s casting adds to his impressive year, following his acclaimed performance in *Sing Sing* and roles in *The Madness* and an upcoming project with Netflix.
The remake promises to modernize the story while retaining its satirical edge and high-stakes action. Fans of the original and newcomers alike are eagerly anticipating Wright’s fresh take on the classic tale.
