Colorado Cross Country Team Nuttycombe Invitational

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Colorado‘s cross country teams are preparing to compete at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, presented by Under Armour, on Friday, October 17. The event will take place at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, hosted by the University of Wisconsin.

The meet will consist of an 8-kilometer race for men and a 6-kilometer race for women, featuring a strong field of 32 men’s teams and 31 women’s teams. Notably, 18 of the men’s teams are nationally ranked, including three members from the Big 12 Conference.

Among the men’s competitors are No. 12 Butler, No. 6 BYU, No. 5 Colorado, and No. 7 Wisconsin. The women’s field includes No. 10 Colorado, No. 3 New Mexico, and No. 7 Notre Dame. Colorado’s men have a competitive lineup led by several talented runners, each aiming for personal bests.

On the women’s side, the Colorado team showcases a well-prepared roster, including runners who have posted impressive times in previous races. The Buffs’ women’s team recently jumped to 10th in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll after finishing third at the Gans Creek Classic, while the men’s team retained its fifth position.

This race will serve as a crucial opportunity for both teams as they look to build momentum heading into the Big 12 Championships on October 31. The Nuttycombe Invitational is seen as a significant tune-up for the upcoming postseason competitions, including the NCAA Mountain Regionals and NCAA Championships.

Following the Nuttycombe Invitational, both teams will aim to capitalize on their experience at the Big 12 Championships held at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kansas.
