Columbus Zoo to Unveil North America Trek This Summer

Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is set to open its new North America Trek this summer, offering visitors a unique experience of North American wildlife. Spanning 14 acres, the Trek is designed to echo the beauty of America’s national parks.
This immersive habitat features elements such as towering cliffs, lush greenery, rustic pathways, and scenic boardwalks, all aimed at fostering a deeper connection with nature. Notable species such as Mexican wolves, bald eagles, black bears, river otters, songbirds, and trumpeter swans will inhabit reimagined spaces throughout the area.
The Columbus Zoo is committed to the wellbeing of animals and conservation efforts. The new Ohio Center for Wildlife Conservation, also part of the North America Trek, will serve as a hub for learning about local wildlife preservation. Visitors will have opportunities to engage with conservation efforts, from protecting eastern hellbenders to supporting native songbird populations.
“We are excited to bring this breathtaking journey through the wild heart of North America to our visitors,” said a spokesperson for the Columbus Zoo. “It’s more than just a habitat; it’s a place to inspire curiosity and a sense of responsibility toward the environment.”
The North America Trek marks a significant addition to the Columbus Zoo, and officials encourage everyone to embark on this adventure once it opens.
