Community Star Alison Brown Discusses Joy of Newlywed Life

NEW YORK, April 11, 2025 — Actress Alison Brown, known for her role in the hit series ‘Community,’ shared insights into her newlywed life during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the premiere of her new project on April 10 at the Imperial Theatre.

The 53-year-old actress and her husband, whom she married in December, discussed their deep appreciation for one another in the early months of their marriage.

“Just having somebody to make you tea and then ask if you’re okay every morning,” Brown explained when asked about her favorite part of being a newlywed. “He’s my greatest caretaker.”

Her husband echoed her sentiments, stating, “Being married next to someone so beautiful” adds to his happiness. Brown playfully responded, “Oh, baby,” to which he replied affirmatively, “It can be.”

The couple announced their engagement in December 2023 after reconnecting years later, having first met in their 20s during an acting class at church. Brown reflected on this serendipitous reunion, noting, “We lost touch for a few years, but he found me in 2021 after a significant period in my life.”

In April 2024, the actress expressed her feelings about falling in love later in life, stating, “To be my age and single for that long, it’s really aspirational for women in similar situations to understand that you can wait for the right one.” She encouraged women not to rush into relationships but to seek genuine connections.

After marrying Davis, she revealed she had no apprehensions about jumping into this new chapter of her life. “I had no nerves when it came to marrying this man; he is the one for me. Absolutely,” she affirmed.

Davis expressed his feelings poetically, saying, “If you can imagine having one wing in your life and trying to fly with just one wing, you go in circles. Now that I’ve found my other wing, I can fly straight and land where I need to land.”
