Conan O'brien Oscar Academy Awards Promo

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Conan O'Brien, host of the upcoming 2025 Academy Awards, is humorously expressing his dissatisfaction with his new co-star, the Oscar statuette, in a teaser released Thursday.

The promotional clip depicts a fictional domestic scene where O’Brien confronts Oscar about their deteriorating relationship. “When we first met, all we did was laugh,” O’Brien exclaims angrily while addressing the stoic golden statue. “When was the last time you laughed at something I said? Other award statues think I’m funny!”

As the clip progresses, O’Brien reveals various humorous grievances about Oscar, complaining about his tendency to monopolize outlets and criticizing Oscar’s discontent with their kitchen design. O’Brien laments having to eat leftovers repeatedly, exclaiming, “What happened to us? I’m sorry I’m not an iconic award!”

The tension escalates when O’Brien receives a call from Martin Scorsese, an Oscar-winning director, who asks to speak directly with Oscar, leaving O’Brien feeling overshadowed.

This teaser is part of the promotional campaign for the 2025 Oscars, set to air on Sunday, March 2, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC starting at 7 p.m. ET.

This year marks O’Brien’s debut as host of the prestigious awards show, bringing his signature comedic style to the event.
