Stimulus Checks Usa 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As algumas Americans await their tax refunds this October, speculation about new stimulus checks has intensified. However, officials have not confirmed any new payments for 2025 or proposed amounts attributed to President Donald Trump.

Social media and websites have circulated rumors of stimulus checks ranging from $1,390 to $2,000, but these claims lack verification from both Congress and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The IRS warns that such misinformation could lead to scams targeting taxpayers.

Currently, a proposal from Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley seeks to deliver checks worth $600 to $2,400 to American families. However, as of now, it has not advanced in Congress.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Americans received three stimulus checks. The last one, which provided up to $1,400 per eligible individual, has a claim deadline of April 15, 2025. Claims for earlier checks have closed, thus taxpayers must act before this deadline to secure any unclaimed refunds.

In some states, residents are receiving inflation relief checks to offset higher sales taxes. States like New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey are distributing these one-time payments.

New Jersey’s ANCHOR program offers property tax relief, with payments up to $1,750 available for qualifying individuals over 65. Applications are open until October 31 for those yet to apply.

To track their tax refunds, individuals can access the IRS’s online tool to check their status, requiring personal details like Social Security numbers. Alternatively, they can call the IRS at 800-829-1954. Many states also provide specific online portals for tracking income tax returns.
