The Conners, the popular spinoff of the iconic sitcom Roseanne, will conclude its run with a six-episode farewell event in March 2025. The final season aims to wrap up the storylines of the beloved Conner family, including Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky, DJ, and others, while addressing lingering plot holes from the original series.

Executive producer Bruce Helford confirmed that the limited runtime of six episodes will make it challenging to resolve every subplot. One storyline that will likely remain unresolved is the existence of Jerry Garcia Conner, a character introduced in Roseanne season 8 but retconned out of The Conners during its third season. Helford explained, ‘We didn’t really have room to add Jerry Garcia. As we moved on to The Conners, we decided… We wouldn’t pick up on the narrative of Jerry.’

Jerry, who was last mentioned as working on a fishing boat in Alaska during Roseanne’s 2018 revival, has not been referenced since. His absence has been largely ignored, as his character never played a significant role in The Conners. However, the show will need to address the return of other key characters, such as DJ, who left the series in season 5 but remains a central figure in the Conner family legacy.

The final season will also focus on providing proper sendoffs for supporting characters like Ben, Neville, Louise, and Tyler, as well as original Roseanne characters such as Crystal and Chuckie Mitchell. With only six episodes to tie up loose ends, the show faces the challenge of balancing nostalgia with satisfying conclusions for its characters.

Emma Kenney, who plays Harris Conner-Healy, reflected on the emotional finale, stating, ‘A lot of people grew up with that set and those characters and storylines. It’s definitely going to be emotional.’ The Conners season 7 is set to premiere in March 2025, marking the end of a sitcom franchise that has spanned over three decades.
