Conor McGregor Weighs in on Upcoming UFC Title Fight
New York, NY — Conor McGregor shared his thoughts on the upcoming welterweight title fight between champion Jack Della Maddalena and challenger Islam Makhachev. The match will take place at Madison Square Garden, a venue where McGregor has had significant success in the past.
The insights from McGregor were relayed by jiu jitsu expert Craig Jones, who is training alongside Della Maddalena for the fight. Jones posted a video on Instagram showing him reading McGregor’s advice to JDM during their training sessions.
In the video, McGregor was quoted saying, “He’ll be light work at this weight — no finishing capability or positional awareness whatsoever. He’s a backpack at best. Nothing to fear. Fear not. Patience, fitness, and ferocity, and he is sparked unconscious inside the five.” This endorsement seemed to excite Jones and others in Della Maddalena’s camp.
McGregor has established himself not only as a fighter but also as a promoter. Recently, during a ringside interview with Ariel Helwani, McGregor was asked whether he felt he was a better promoter than UFC President Dana White. In his response, he referenced his past experiences with the Fertitta brothers and White, saying, “I do my thing. I am from the school of the Fertitta empire, you know? The lads done me great.”
The excitement surrounding the Della Maddalena versus Makhachev fight continues to build. UFC 322 is set for November 15, and fans are eager to see how this title encounter unfolds.
