Constable Faces Charges for Allegedly Slapping Bollywood Star Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport
An FIR has been filed against a CISF constable, Kulwinder Kaur, in Punjab following an incident involving Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh Airport.
Kaur, who allegedly slapped Ranaut, has been charged with Sections 323 and 341 of the IPC, but no arrest has been made yet.
Ranaut claimed she was hit and abused by Kaur before boarding her flight to Delhi, leading to Kaur’s suspension.
Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar condemned the violence and called it unfortunate.
Farmer unions including SKM and the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee have expressed support for the constable, claiming Ranaut referred to Kaur as ‘Khalistan Kaur’.
According to CISF DIG Vinay Kajla, Kaur apologized for the incident, citing emotional distress over Ranaut’s statements during the farmers’ agitation.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, Ranaut defeated Vikramaditya Singh of the Congress by a significant margin from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
