A controversial incident unfolded at a church gathering led by Dr. Paul Eneche, where a testimonial moment turned into a dispute over a woman’s graduation claim. The contention arose when Vera Anyim shared her testimony about graduating with a BSc in Law from the National Open University of Nigeria.

Elated by her achievement, Anyim expressed gratitude for the guidance of Dr. Eneche and his wife’s support in her educational journey, which she described as a breakthrough for her family.

Anyim revealed that breaking a purported generational curse, she pursued her law degree starting in 2014 and faced numerous challenges through the years. She triumphantly declared her graduation on April 13, 2024, with a “BSc in Law.”

The pastor, Dr. Eneche, refuted Anyim’s testimony, categorically dismissing her claim of obtaining a “BSc in Law” as a fabrication. He criticized her language proficiency and cautioned against false testimonies within the congregation.

Social media platforms erupted with reactions to Dr. Eneche’s response, with individuals like Temi Rossie and Obot Sampson criticizing the pastor’s harsh stance. Meanwhile, Uzoamaka Oluah-Ogor called for a public apology from Dr. Eneche to Anyim for the public humiliation.

Voices like Elan Tracey and Kelechi suggested legal action against the pastor, emphasizing the need for accountability and respect in religious settings. Jonah Nagura expressed disappointment in the pastor’s handling of the situation, urging Dr. Eneche to issue an apology.

As the debate continues online, Obichuckwu Ndibam highlighted the importance of empathy and understanding in addressing such sensitive matters involving public figures like Dr. Paul Eneche and Vera Anyim.
