Coronation Street Star Claire Sweeney Eliminated From Dancing On Ice

Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has been eliminated from the popular reality show Dancing On Ice. The actress, 52, faced a skate-off against comedian Lou Sanders after suffering a sprained rib during rehearsals for her burlesque-inspired routine to her own rendition of ‘Hey Big Spender’ with partner Grafton. Despite the pain, Sweeney was determined to perform and declared that nothing would stop her.

However, Sweeney’s performance put her at the bottom of the leaderboard, scoring 23.5. The judges praised her commitment but felt there were too many lifts in the routine. Sanders also had a challenging performance, scoring 24.5 for her waltz to Eva Cassidy‘s ‘What A Wonderful World’ with partner Brendyn Hatfield. Judge Christopher Dean commended her for her best skate so far.

In contrast, West End star [ProperNoun1] stole the show with her energetic cha cha cha to Michael Buble’s ‘Sway‘ alongside partner Simon Proulx-Senecal. Davis topped the leaderboard with an impressive score of 34, beating the previous record held by Miles Nazaire. Nazaire scored 31.5 for a ballet-inspired routine performed with partner Vanessa.
