Country Star Jamey Johnson Marries Brittney Eakins in Dreamy Quarry Wedding

FRANKLIN, Tennessee — Country music star Jamey Johnson married attorney Brittney Eakins on Tuesday, May 20, in a romantic ceremony at Graystone Quarry. The couple marked their union in front of 350 guests in a wedding that paid tribute to their Southern heritage.
“The best thing about our wedding by far has been bringing together so many people that we love and putting them all in one place,” Johnson and Eakins told PEOPLE. They chose a weekday for the ceremony to accommodate the schedules of touring musicians.
Notable guests included Randy Travis, Kid Rock, Zac Brown, and Randy Houser. The couple’s friends and family arrived in Nashville over the weekend for pre-wedding festivities, including a brunch hosted by the bride’s mother.
As the wedding ceremony approached, the vibrant energy of the pre-parties transitioned to a serene atmosphere amidst towering trees at the quarry, where Johnson has performed many times before. “I worked there in the early 2000s before music became my full-time job,” Johnson shared. It was Nancy Jones, the widow of country singer George Jones, who suggested the venue for their wedding.
Johnson and Eakins exchanged personal vows privately and later shared traditional vows during the large ceremony. The bride, wearing a custom gown from Louisiana-based boutique Natasha Marie Bridal, walked down the aisle to live music performed by a string quartet.
Johnson contrasted his bride in white with a custom three-piece black tuxedo, completing the look with black boots. The groomsmen, including close friends from the music industry, wore matching black suits as part of the requested “cowboy black tie” dress code.
Sisters played significant roles in the bridal party, with Eakins’ youngest sister serving as maid of honor and her nine-month-pregnant sister as matron of honor. The couple incorporated a touching ring-warming ceremony, allowing each guest to bless their wedding bands before the vows.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour featuring a variety of sliders and cocktails. The reception followed with romantic decor and a menu reflecting both their backgrounds, including seafood inspired by Eakins’ Cajun roots.
For dessert, the couple cut into a seven-tier wedding cake that featured intricate details matching Eakins’ gown and a surprise grooms cake replicating Johnson’s guitar, Ole Maple.
The couple’s first dance was to Chris LeDoux’s “Look at You Girl,” which Johnson has sung for couples at previous weddings. Following the first dance, the band Party on the Moon entertained guests throughout the reception.
Johnson and Eakins first met in 2019 at the inauguration of Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, where their instant connection led to a whirlwind romance. After a five-year long-distance relationship, Johnson proposed in March 2023 at a memorable location.
The couple plans a short honeymoon in the Bahamas before Johnson’s upcoming tour and a longer trip to Europe later this year.
