Couple Sharing Secrets On Television Show

NEW YORK, March 28, 2025 — Jenna Bush Hager and her husband, Henry Hager, opened up about their nearly two-decade-long marriage during a live segment of their show, “Today with Jenna & Friends,” on March 27. The couple, who married on May 10, 2008, demonstrated their humorous dynamic as they recalled early memories and shared amusing anecdotes.

During Thursday’s broadcast, Bush Hager invited her husband, a co-host on the show, to recall their first kiss, prompting laughter from viewers. “It was to Lil' Troy, a song we can’t say on TV,” she recalled. Bush Hager added that their dancing led to an unexpected kiss. Henry Hager chimed in, stating, “I went in for the kiss,” eliciting further chuckles.

Continuing the playful banter, Jenna mentioned an ambiguous moment that she felt Henry shouldn’t share on air, to which he responded with a laugh, denying any undue embarrassment from their time at the White House.

The couple’s light-hearted conversation included a revealing moment about their relationship when Jenna spoke about a marriage proposal that occurred during a chilly trek in Maine’s Acadia National Park. “I was very cranky before the big moment,” she admitted. “He insisted we stop for a Luna bar despite my protests, and that’s when he proposed.”

As the show continued on March 28, Jenna and Henry completed a lie detector test that escalated into playful teasing. Jenna asked Henry if she had ever given him the ‘ick,’ a term used to describe something that squicks someone out. His affirmative answer led to amusing revelations about their morning routines, showcasing the couple’s honesty and humor.

“Sometimes in the morning, you know, you might want to brush your teeth,” Henry joked, while Jenna humorously defended her natural early-morning state.

Despite their playful exchanges, both maintained that their marriage remains strong. Having been together for over 20 years, they shared their commitment to protecting one another, even during awkward television moments.

Ultimately, as they co-hosted together during “Family Week,” Hager’s involvement in the show emphasized their close-knit partnership and ability to laugh at life’s candid moments.
