Cristiano Ronaldo Fatal Fury Gameplay Trailer

LOS ANGELES, March 26, 2025 — Soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make an unexpected appearance in the upcoming fighting game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, with a newly released trailer confirming his inclusion as a playable character. The game is scheduled for release on April 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

This marks a significant moment for the Fatal Fury franchise, which has seen its last entry, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, launched in 1999. The new game aims to reinvigorate the series by introducing famous guest characters, with Ronaldo leading the charge.

In the trailer, Ronaldo showcases a variety of fighting moves heavily influenced by his soccer skills, including kicks, sweeps, and an impressive flip kick. He also possesses the ability to create energy balls during combat, adding a unique twist to his gameplay. “Ronaldo’s inclusion brings a blend of sports and fighting that fans will love,” said an SNK representative during the press event.

Notably, Ronaldo is not the only star joining the roster; Street Fighter’s Ken Masters and Chun-Li have also been confirmed as part of the first season of downloadable content. However, Ronaldo stands out by being available at launch, making him the first guest character in the game.

The excitement around guest characters in fighting games is not new, with many titles including characters from various franchises. Gaming enthusiasts recall instances like Negan from The Walking Dead appearing in Tekken 7 and Yoda from Star Wars being featured in Soul Calibur IV.

SNK’s move to include Ronaldo aims to attract a broader audience and revive interest in the Fatal Fury series. “This collaboration is an exciting opportunity for both SNK and Ronaldo fans, merging the worlds of football and fighting games,” added the company.

As anticipation builds toward the game’s release, discussions about its potential impact on esports have already begun. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is expected to feature in major tournaments, and its initial prize pool estimates are reportedly as high as $1 million.

With the trend of guest characters becoming commonplace, fans are left wondering who else might join the fray in future updates. “It’s a wild time for fighting games, and seeing someone like Ronaldo involved is just surreal,” remarked a gaming analyst.
