Crocs Store St. Johns Town Center

Crocs, a prominent name in casual footwear, is slated to open a new store at the St. Johns Town Center near Target. This development follows a building-permit application under review by the city for tenant improvements at the prospective location. The store will occupy a 2,672-square-foot space, and the project is estimated to cost $201,672. Although a contractor has not been identified, the architectural plans are managed by Sargenti Architects of Paramus, New Jersey, while the landlord for the property is Simon Property Group, based in Indianapolis.

The location at 4611 River City Drive, Suite C01, was previously held by Uniformi-T, which has now relocated to Wild Plum Plaza on Southside Boulevard. Crocs, headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado, prides itself as a global leader in innovative footwear for all genders, offering a wide range of shoe styles including traditional clogs, sandals, slides, and more specialized work shoes catering to industries such as nursing and hospitality.

In addition to a diverse array of footwear options, Crocs also markets Jibbitz Charms accessories and socks. The price for women’s classic clogs begins at $39.99 online. The company operates 363 retail locations worldwide as of June 30, 2024, with a significant presence in North America accounting for 172 stores, and 191 stores internationally.

The brand’s growth trajectory includes the HEYDUDE Brand, which has expanded to 32 company-operated locations, up from just nine a year prior, mostly as temporary clearance outlets. Crocs predominantly utilizes Croslite material in its products, a bio-based material sourced from repurposed waste, emphasizing its commitment to innovative material usage.

The brand’s origins date back to 2002 in Boulder, Colorado, when founders George Boedecker Jr. and Lyndon Hanson sought to design a comfortable and practical shoe for boat enthusiasts. After being showcased at a local boating show, the shoes rapidly gained popularity. The brand name, “Crocs,” reflects its amphibious capabilities, akin to a crocodile’s ability to perform in multiple environments. Crocs anticipates a revenue growth rate of 3% to 5% in 2024, with the Crocs Brand expecting higher growth compared to a forecasted decline for HEYDUDE Brand sales.
