Cubs Brewers Mlb Playoffs 2025

CHICAGO, Ill. — The Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers are set to face off in their first-ever playoff series beginning Saturday, October 4. This best-of-five Division Series will kick off a historic weekend for both teams, who are fierce rivals in the National League Central.

The Cubs, coming off a hard-fought Wild Card Series victory against the San Diego Padres, won the season series against the Brewers 7-6. However, the Brewers clinched the NL Central title, finishing the regular season with a remarkable 97-65 record, the best in all of baseball.

As a result of their strong finish, the Brewers earned a bye and have had nearly a week to prepare for this matchup. Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta, who boasts a season record of 17 wins and 6 losses with a 2.70 ERA, is poised to lead his team on the mound in Game 1.

The Cubs’ bullpen is expected to be ready after getting a day off, although there are concerns about the workload on their key relievers who pitched heavily in the Wild Card Series. The Cubs have one of the most potent offenses in baseball, although they were somewhat stifled by the Padres’ pitching staff in their previous series.

The winner of this series will advance to face the victor of the DodgersPhillies matchup in the National League Championship Series. The Cubs are looking to claim their first pennant since 2016, while the Brewers are seeking their first National League pennant; they previously won the American League title in 1982.

The schedule for the series is as follows:

Game 1: Saturday, Oct. 4, 2:08 PM ET on TBS

Game 2: Monday, Oct. 6, 9:08 PM ET on TBS

Game 3: Wednesday, Oct. 8, time TBD on TBS

Game 4 (if necessary): Thursday, Oct. 9, time TBD on TBS

Game 5 (if necessary): Saturday, Oct. 11, time TBD on TBS
