Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszková Wins Miss World 2024 Crown in Mumbai
In a stunning turn of events, Krystyna Pyszková, hailing from Třinec in the Czech Republic, has been crowned the winner of the prestigious Miss World 2024 pageant held in Mumbai. Competing against 112 contestants from all corners of the globe, Pyszková’s graceful demeanor and charm captured the hearts of the viewers and judges alike.
The crowning moment for Pyszková came as she gracefully received the Miss World crown from her predecessor, Karolina Bielawská of Poland, the reigning champion from the 70th edition of the competition.
The victory marks a significant achievement for the Czech Republic, with Pyszková becoming only the second Czech contestant to clinch the coveted Miss World title since Taťána Kuchařová’s win back in 2006.
Following a nail-biting finale, Pyszková emerged triumphant, leaving contestants from Lebanon, Trinidad and Tobago, and Botswana trailing behind. Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon secured the position of first runner-up in the highly competitive contest.
The Czech Foreign Minister expressed his delight at Pyszková’s win, recounting a serendipitous encounter with her during a layover in India. Taťána Makarenko, the director of Miss Czech Republic, extended an invitation to the pageant to the stranded Lipavský, creating a unique connection to the unfolding events.
Former Miss World Taťána Kuchařová also celebrated Pyszková’s triumph on social media, emphasizing the pride of having another Czech representative shine on the global stage. The win holds a special significance as it reaffirms the Czech Republic’s presence in the international beauty pageant circuit.
Local dignitaries, including Třinec Mayor Věra Palkovská, commended Pyszková for her monumental achievement, underscoring the pride felt by the community for her success. Palkovská highlighted that Pyszková’s victory showcases the diversity and talent present in Třinec, transcending beyond the realm of hockey to make a mark on a global platform.
The Miss World pageant, initially conceived as a one-off event in 1951 by British host Eric Morley, has evolved into a celebrated platform that showcases beauty, talent, and cultural diversity from around the world. Pyszková’s triumph adds to the Czech Republic’s illustrious legacy in international beauty pageants, expanding the country’s footprint in competitions like Miss Europe and Miss Earth.
