March Dadness Bracket Tournament Dad Rock Bands

NEW YORK, NY — The March Dadness tournament is in full swing, inviting music fans to vote for the greatest dad rock band of all time. This unique competition, inspired by the March Madness basketball tournament, features 32 bands from four generational categories: Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z.

The tournament is currently in its first round, and fans can cast their votes for their favorite bands through March 23 at 11:59 PM ET. The winning bands from each matchup will advance to the next rounds, culminating in the championship round from April 4 to 7, where the top band will be crowned.

To participate, fans can vote once per hour in head-to-head matchups, ensuring their favorite bands progress. A variety of dad rock bands have been included in the competition, representing different eras as young listeners now consider 2000s bands part of the dad rock genre.

The announcement of the tournament comes as interest in classic rock continues to evolve and diversify, with younger generations embracing sounds from decades past. “It’s fascinating how each generation reinterprets what dad rock means to them,” said a spokesperson for Loudwire, which is hosting the tournament. “This event allows us to honor those bands that have shaped rock history while keeping the spirit alive for new fans.”

Loudwire’s March Dadness promises an engaging experience for voting and an exciting showcase of the influence of dad rock across generations. Updates on the winners from each round will be posted on Loudwire’s social media channels, keeping fans informed about which bands are advancing.
