Dakota Johnson Family Screening Materialists Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CADakota Johnson received heartfelt support from her family during a special screening of her upcoming film, ‘Materialists,’ on May 7. The actress was joined by her mother, Melanie Griffith, and her older brother, Jesse Johnson, at the London Hotel.

For the film screening, Dakota, 35, wore a stylish white tank dress that flared out at the bottom. Her mother, Griffith, 67, opted for a more casual look with jeans and a sheer brown top paired with a trench coat and a Louis Vuitton purse. Jesse, 42, complemented Dakota’s outfit with a white sweatshirt and jeans.

Jesse, son of Dakota’s father, Don Johnson, and actress Patti D’Arbanville, shared a photo of the movie’s poster on his Instagram Stories, captioning it, ‘Dis good.’ This display of family pride comes as Dakota embraces her complicated family dynamics, which she described in a recent interview with Bustle.

‘No matter how f—ed up it is, we’re family. And we are always going to be a family,’ Dakota expressed, underlining the special bond they share despite challenges.

She also reflected on the artistic talents within her family, saying, ‘Most of us are artists. Even in my adult life and my new family, most of us are artists.’ Dakota mentioned the complexities that come with such a diverse group of creative individuals.

‘Materialists,’ produced by A24, portrays Dakota’s character Lucy, a successful matchmaker, who becomes embroiled in a love triangle with two distinct men, played by Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. The film is set to be released in theaters on June 13.
