NEW YORK, NY — Dana Perino, a Fox News anchor, released her fourth book, “I Wish Someone Had Told Me: The Best Advice for Building a Great Career and a Meaningful Life,” which shares insights from her life and career.

In the book, Perino emphasizes the importance of advice she has received throughout her career, including guidance from former President George W. Bush. ‘He continues to be a wonderful influence on my life,’ Perino said. ‘He often talked about how living based on a set of principles made decision-making much easier.’

Her journey began in 1995 when she met British man Peter McMahon on a flight from Denver to Chicago. They fell in love during that trip, despite their 18-year age difference. Her friend Kim Wilkerson advised her not to pass up the chance for love, leading to their 26-year marriage.

Perino’s book includes advice from notable figures like Bill Hemmer, who advises: ‘Ask more questions than you make statements.’ Fellow Fox News star Greg Gutfeld shares insights about prioritizing the people you work with over the roles you take on.

Perino believes young professionals often stress too much about work-life balance right away. ‘If you work hard in your twenties, you’re more likely to have a better work-life balance later on,’ she told The Post.

The book provides a comprehensive look at various life stages and career milestones, encouraging readers to revisit its lessons as they progress through different phases.

“This book is broadly based for both genders and people of all ages,” Perino said. ‘I hope it’s something they can read one time and then refer back to during pivotal moments in their lives.’
