Dancing On Ice Champion Alex Murphy Tips Adele Roberts As Possible Winner

Dancing on Ice champion Alex Murphy believes that the underdog Adele Roberts could defy the odds and win this year’s competition. Murphy, who partnered with Joe Swash to win the show in 2020, expressed her desire to see a female celebrity take home the trophy for the first time since the show’s reboot.

The 44-year-old radio DJ and former I'm A Celebrity star is paired with professional skater Mark Hanretty for this season’s competition. Murphy considers Roberts to be a dark horse contender who has been underestimated. She believes that Dancing on Ice needs a female champion and thinks Roberts has the potential to surprise everyone.

Murphy explained that the audience tends to give the male contestants more credit for their lifts and tricks, but it’s time for a female celebrity to shine. She commends Roberts’ resilience and praises her skating partner, Mark Hanretty, for his exceptional teaching skills and choreography.

Murphy advises the male professional skaters to choreograph routines that showcase the women’s skating skills, rather than just focusing on lifts. She believes this can help level the playing field and showcase the women’s abilities on the ice.

Adele Roberts, who was diagnosed with stage 2 bowel cancer in October 2021, expressed her admiration for Hanretty and his previous partners, such as Kimberly Wyatt and Carley Stenson. Despite feeling starstruck, Roberts is determined to give her all and appreciates Hanretty’s support and desire to see them succeed.
