Dancing With the Stars Season 33 Premieres: How to Vote
The highly anticipated 33rd season of “Dancing With the Stars” is set to premiere on September 17, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET, airing on both ABC and Disney+. Fans of this beloved dance competition will be greeted by familiar faces as Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return to co-host the show. The judging panel once again features Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough.
This new season promises an exciting lineup of celebrity contestants, including American Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik, who gained fame as “Pommel Horse Guy” during the 2024 Paris Olympics. The full list of competitors, unveiled by ABC on “Good Morning America,” consists of Olympic athletes, reality TV stars, actors, and more.
“Dancing With the Stars” will be available for live viewing on ABC and Disney+, with episodes becoming available on-demand the next day on ABC.com and Hulu. A key aspect of the show involves audience participation through voting to help favorite pairs advance each week. Viewers over the age of 18 residing in the United States or Canada can cast up to 20 votes per couple weekly through two methods – online voting or SMS during the live voting window of each episode.
To cast votes online, viewers must log in or create an account on the official voting website. After registration, they will receive a verification code via email to finalize their account. Once verified, they can follow instructions provided to vote for their preferred couples during the designated voting period.
Alternatively, to vote via SMS, fans can send a specific keyword to the number 21523, pertaining to their chosen contestants. A confirmation message will be sent after the first vote in each voting window, and notifications will alert voters if they reach the 10-vote limit for any couple.
It’s important to note that voting is restricted to the Eastern and Central time zones during the initial broadcast starting at 8 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. CT. Votes cannot be cast during later broadcasts or while streaming on Hulu. While online votes can be modified during the open voting window, SMS votes are final once sent.
The finale of this season will feature a first for the series, with five couples competing for the prestigious “Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.” Past winners of the show include 2023 champions Xochitl Gomez and her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, who won the title last season, marking Chmerkovskiy’s third victory.
