NEW YORK, NY — Daniel Cosgrove, an accomplished actor known for his roles on various soap operas, is set to join the cast of ABC’s *General Hospital* as Ezra Boyle. His debut is scheduled for March 21, 2025.

Cosgrove, who has previously starred in *All My Children*, *Days of Our Lives*, and *Guiding Light*, expressed enthusiasm for the new character. He mentioned in an interview, “They asked if I’d be interested in this new character and I said, absolutely.” Though the details of Ezra’s role were kept under wraps during preliminary discussions, Cosgrove has been filming for approximately six weeks.

As a politician, Ezra Boyle will engage in the show’s political storyline, initially appearing to align with character Drew Quartermaine, portrayed by Cameron Mathison. Cosgrove described Ezra as a “consummate politician” who will interact with several primary characters from the series, including Mayor Laura Collins, played by Genie Francis.

“He comes across as maybe a little arrogant and full of himself, but it’s definitely been fun so far. I’m working with such a fantastic cast,” Cosgrove said regarding the character’s dynamics with the other members of the Port Charles community.

Cosgrove’s history in daytime television began in the early 2000s as Bill Lewis on *Guiding Light*. He subsequently garnered attention for his portrayal of Scott Chandler on *All My Children*. His experience includes roles on *As the World Turns* and *Days of Our Lives*. Additionally, he has made guest appearances on numerous primetime series, such as *Beverly Hills, 90210* and *The Good Wife*.

After taking time off during an actors’ strike, Cosgrove transitioned to roles outside of acting, including teaching and sales. Reflecting on his return, he stated, “This just reignited something in me, such an appreciation and such an excitement and a love. I mean, I get to work hours early, and I don’t want to sound corny, but each and every day is just a blessing.”

In the current storyline arc, Ezra will create tension among Port Charles residents, potentially challenging the status quo. Cosgrove hinted at some upcoming “shenanigans” involving his character’s interactions, suggesting a complex blend of alliances and rivalries.

Cosgrove’s return to daytime television has been described as a reunion of sorts, as he reconnects with familiar faces from his previous roles. He reminisced about working alongside Mathison, whom he shared the screen with in *All My Children*, recalling, “We looked at some pictures of those old Pine Valley days… It was really great.”

Fans of *General Hospital* can anticipate Cosgrove’s character to bring notable intrigue to the show, with the potential for plot twists as he navigates the political landscape of Port Charles.

*General Hospital* airs on weekdays at 3 p.m. EST on ABC.
