Daniel Goddard General Hospital

LOS ANGELES, CA — Fans of General Hospital can look forward to new storylines featuring Josslyn’s college experiences as The Young and the Restless alum Daniel Goddard joins the cast. Goddard will debut as Professor Henry Dalton on April 15 during an episode centered around Josslyn’s first assignment for the WSB super spy program.

In the April 10 episode of General Hospital, Josslyn, portrayed by Eden McCoy, receives news about her environmental physics class with Dalton, setting the stage for dramatic developments at Port Charles University. Goddard expressed his excitement about the role, stating, ‘I said to Frank [Valentini, executive producer], “Don’t tell me anything about the character.” I’d rather have the character be sort of a clean slate to me.’

The storyline involving Josslyn and Professor Dalton is expected to weave in other characters, including Emma (Braedyn Bruner), Gio (Giovanni Mazza), and Trina (Tabyana Ali), as tensions rise on campus.

Goddard is well-known for his role as Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless, where he appeared intermittently from 2007 until 2019. He revealed that he was not actively seeking a new soap role before being approached in December about another character, Jack Brennan, which ultimately went to Chris McKenna. However, Goddard felt fortunate to receive the offer from General Hospital soon after. ‘I was just gobsmacked by it,’ he shared. ‘It wasn’t a recast. It was a new character, and I was so blown away.’

Additionally, Goddard’s connections to the General Hospital cast may help ease his transition into the show. He has previously worked with cast members like Genie Francis and Tristan Rogers during his time on The Young and the Restless, which they both starred in.

With Goddard set to play a prominent role in upcoming plotlines, fans are eagerly awaiting how his character will fit into the complex world of Port Charles. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and is also available for streaming on Hulu.
