Danny Dyer Joins All-Star Cast in New Series ‘Rivals’
Actor Danny Dyer, best known for his role in the soap opera EastEnders, is set to star in the upcoming Disney Plus series ‘Rivals‘. The series is based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s infamous book series, which carries the same name. ‘Rivals’ is expected to premiere on October 18th and promises to bring its audience a series of fervent scenes and intricate storylines.
Joining Dyer on set is a lineup of esteemed actors such as David Tennant, known for his roles in Doctor Who, and Aidan Turner, star of the series Poldark. The cast also includes Alex Hassell, Nafessa Williams, Bella Maclean, Katherine Parkinson, Victoria Smurfit, Lisa McGrillis, Emily Atack, Luke Pasqualino, Catriona Chandler, Gabriel Tierney, Gary Lamont, and Lara Peake.
Set in England in 1986, ‘Rivals’ is adapted from Jilly Cooper’s second book in the Rutshire Chronicles. The story centers around Rupert Campbell-Black, a notable figure formerly a showjumper turned politician, who collaborates with his neighbor Declan O’Hara to compete against Lord Tony Baddingham for a Cotswold-based television franchise. However, their plans are complicated by a romance between Rupert and Declan’s daughter, Taggie O’Hara. Other plot twists include love triangles and tumultuous relationships.
Away from his professional commitments, Danny Dyer leads a private life in Essex, where he resides with his wife Joanne Mas and their children. The couple has been together since their teenage years and married in 2016. Their home is noted for its luxurious amenities, including a garden igloo, an indoor gym, and a cinema room.
Dyer shares three children with Joanne, among them is Dani Dyer, a former Love Island contestant. Their daughter Dani has made headlines with her own family developments, including recent motherhood and her relationship with West Ham player Jarrod Bowen.
