LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Marvel Studios released the first two episodes of “Daredevil: Born Again” on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, marking the much-anticipated return of the beloved superhero series.

Daredevil: Born Again serves as a reboot of Netflix’s 2015 series, bringing back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who fights crime as the vigilante Daredevil. The original series ended in October 2018 after three successful seasons.

Set six years after the events of the last season, the new show sees Murdock facing off against his archrival, Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio. The duo’s conflict escalates as both their past identities resurface, leading to inevitable confrontations.

The official synopsis states, “Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York.”

New episodes of Daredevil: Born Again will be released weekly on Disney+, dropping every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The third episode, titled “The Hollow of His Hand,” will premiere March 11, followed by subsequent episodes.

Initially announced with an ambitious 18-episode season, Marvel Studios shifted the plan, splitting the season into two parts. The first season will now comprise nine episodes, with filming for Season 2 set to begin in early March 2025. Showrunner Dario Scardapane noted, “The second season is the absolute flip side to each other, which you’ll see.”

The unique release schedule includes a two-episode premiere followed by weekly episodes, with a surprise two-episode midseason drop on March 25. The first season is expected to conclude on April 15, 2025.

To watch the series, viewers need a Disney+ subscription, with plans starting at $9.99 monthly. New subscribers can choose from several package options that include access to Hulu and ESPN+.

Although it’s not necessary to have seen the original Netflix series, viewers may find it beneficial as many key characters and storylines carry over into Born Again. Characters such as Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, and Frank Castle (The Punisher) return, enhancing the narrative for long-time fans.

“Daredevil: Born Again” has garnered much attention not only for its cast but also for its connection to the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe, including character crossovers and potential future plotlines.

Overall, the revival of Daredevil aims to strike a balance between gritty action and character-driven storytelling, positioning itself as a pivotal entry in Marvel’s Phase 5 lineup.
