Daredevil Born Again Daniel Blake Skrull

LOS ANGELES, March 7, 2025 – The character Daniel Blake, played by Michael Gandolfini in the new Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, has sparked speculation about a potential hidden identity as a Skrull. This theory arose following a potential connection to a similar name used in a 1961 comic, which featured a Martian spy.

The original Dan Blake appeared in Tales to Astonish #25, where he was revealed to be a Martian attempting to undermine America’s space program. The story hinted at alien conflicts, introducing elements reminiscent of characters known as the Skrulls and Kree, raising questions whether the current Daniel Blake could share a similar backstory.

In Daredevil: Born Again, Blake has emerged as an aide to the notorious Wilson Fisk, who has recently been elected mayor of New York City. Early reports suggest Blake played a significant role in garnering support for Fisk, reportedly collecting 2,000 signatures to get him on the ballot. Furthermore, he is said to manage Fisk’s social media presence, highlighting a poignant role in the campaign.

Despite his apparent involvement, Blake’s true background remains murky. Journalist B.B. Urich confronted him regarding his credentials, to which Blake cryptically responded, “Well, maybe I’m… I don’t know what I am.” Such ambiguity could imply layers to his character that might align with Skrull behavior, specifically pertaining to their use of shallow disguises.

This theory finds a potential narrative ally within the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Following the events of the Secret Invasion, where a Skrull faction was labeled as rogue, all extraterrestrial entities have been banned from Earth. The fate of the remaining Skrulls is not yet disclosed, enabling a storyline where Blake could be operating as a Skrull nationalist under the guise of a human.

What remains unclear is Blake’s motivation behind his assistance to Fisk. Observers are left to question whether he genuinely believes in the Kingpin’s agenda or if he is leveraging his influence to assist rogue Skrulls striving for power in New York.

Both episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are now available for streaming on Disney+. Public excitement surrounds the series, especially given its potential links to wider MCU narratives. Fans remain hopeful for memorable cameos while grappling with the show’s unfolding mysteries.
