Darren Aronofsky Caught Stealing Trailer

NEW YORK, NY – Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for “Caught Stealing,” the latest film from acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky. Scheduled for release on August 29, the crime comedy set in 1990s New York features Austin Butler as Hank Thompson, a former baseball star turned bartender.

The trailer introduces audiences to Hank, whose life is seemingly going well. He has a supportive girlfriend, Yvonne, played by Zoë Kravitz, and he is content working at a dive bar. However, everything changes when his punk-rock neighbor, Russ, portrayed by Matt Smith, asks him to care for his cat for a few days.

What begins as a simple favor spirals into chaos as Hank becomes entangled with a group of menacing gangsters, including a sadistic cop and mobsters from various backgrounds. They all seem to have a reason to target Hank, yet he is clueless about the cause of their interest.

Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio (known as Bad Bunny), and Carol Kane round out the star-studded cast. The screenplay is adapted from the novel of the same name by Charlie Huston, who also wrote the script.

Aronofsky, known for films like “Black Swan” and “The Whale,” aims to deliver something fresh and entertaining with this project. “I wanted to do something that was a lot of fun,” he stated during CinemaCon earlier this year.

This film marks a departure from Aronofsky’s usual style, promising audiences a wild ride through the underbelly of New York City. As we anticipate its release, the trailer hints at a blend of humor and suspense, showcasing Butler’s transformation from a down-on-his-luck player to a man fighting for his survival.

In previous interviews, Aronofsky described “Caught Stealing” as a love letter to New York City, his hometown. To see the trailer and prepare for how Hank’s story unfolds, visit Sony Pictures’ official site.
